Patrick Mahomes predictions against next March is…

With their second consecutive Super Bowl victory to cap up their 2023 season, the Kansas City Chiefs can now focus on the offseason.

Everyone naturally thinks about free agency, but the draft is just as important—if not more so—for a team like the Chiefs that has little financial space.

Patrick Mahomes was particularly interested in one prospect during last week’s NFL Scouting Combine. The Chiefs quarterback texted his congrats to Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy, who broke the 40-yard sprint record with 4.21 seconds.

Throughout the week in Indianapolis, no athlete improved their draft position more than Worthy. Kansas City, which has the final pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, may find things more difficult as a result. When it is their turn at No. 32, they will be hoping that Worthy is on the board. The Chiefs were the perfect destination for the Texas receiver, who had already stated as much.

Much talk about the possible Chiefs-Worthy pairing resulted from this. In his most recent mock draft, Mel Kiper had the Chiefs choosing the playmaking wideout.

Worthy recorded 1,014 yards, five touchdowns, and 75 receptions by the end of the 2023 campaign. His ability to create plays as a receiver is demonstrated by his 7.6 yards after catch per reception.

The Chiefs need to add more receivers to their group because Marquez Valdes-Scantling and possibly Kadarius Toney are leaving. They might not be able to compete with the Texas speedster.
