JUST IN: Auburn Tigers current head coach have just signing five players in for…

On Wednesday night, the Tennessee Volunteers take on the Auburn Tigers in an attempt to create a big impression and secure their first-ever 1-seed in program history in the NCAA Tournament. For their midweek game, Bruce Pearl and the Tigers had a different plan. While building their own tournament resume, the Tigers hope to play spoiler.

Speaking up and never afraid to be real, the former Vol coach has never cared who sees or hears him. Bruce was naked during a 2007 Lady Vols basketball game, as I still recall. When he came here at Rocky Top in the middle of the 2000s, he was still the same guy—a coach.

Ever since he was hired at Auburn, Pearl has led competitive teams that have consistently competed for conference titles and NCAA Tournament seeds. In 2024, the Vols and Tigers will be in the same place again, and Pearl has given Rick Barnes’ team some props before they play.

He’s right, whether he’s making this comment out of pure honesty or is attempting to create an underdog mentality before his Tigers play in Food City Center. Thus far in the season, the Vols have shown themselves to be the greatest team in the SEC.

Tennessee has the chance to hand Auburn the same fate after defeating two of the top contenders for the SEC Championship, Alabama and Kentucky. With less than two weeks left in the regular season, the Vols can set themselves apart from the rest of the SEC field if they can win on Wednesday night. The Vols’ top scorer has proven he is a threat to the best teams in the conference, and Pearl doesn’t think that will change on Wednesday night when his Tigers take on the Vols. I put Pearl in the same boat as Lane Kiffin. Former Tennessee coaches are loved by some and hated by others. They are both great coaches and know how to use everything they say strategically before a game. Barnes knows how good Pearl’s Auburn squad can be any given year. Whatever Tennessee does, they have to beat Pearl
