“Her body was discovered over the Florida line in Holmes County,” Lieutenant Scott Owens said.

Years later, it turns out that the husband who reported Sharon missing is the one who killed her. That’s what police tell us happened, but they didn’t know that two decades ago.

“Try as they might, couldn’t get anywhere within this investigation,” Lt. Owens said.

Dothan Police won’t reveal exactly what happened, but a piece of information took this murder off the back burner.

At sunrise on Monday morning, officers went to Dwight Mills’ home and put him in handcuffs. They charged him with murder and corpse abuse.

Angel Faulk, Sharon Mills’s daughter, praised God for the individuals he had prepared to handle this.

Faulk expressed gratitude to other cops and lead investigator Terry Nelson.

“I just feel like I can’t thank him enough. Everybody present. Every man, said Faulk.

Faulk told News4 that she never gave up on her stepfather’s arrest because she thought he was the murderer all along.

“My mother claimed that I was her angel at birth and that she collected angels. I want to be an angel, which is a messenger. My goal is to be that person who inspires people to never give up. I have never wavered in my faith in God,” said Faulk.

The cause of Sharon’s death was not disclosed by the police, as the inquiry is still underway.
