Breaking: Sanford Stadium to Launch ‘Live Between the Hedges’ Concert Series in 2026

Sanford Stadium — better known to college football fans as “Between the Hedges” — is preparing for a historic transformation. For the first time in decades, the University of Georgia’s iconic stadium will open its gates for major concerts, starting in spring 2026, school officials announced this week.

The new event series, titled “Live Between the Hedges,” will be a joint venture between UGA and Does Entertainment, a national concert promotion company recognized for producing sold-out shows across NFL and college venues nationwide. The initiative aims to breathe new life into Dooley Field, combining the energy of Bulldog football with live music under the lights.

“This is a great day not only for the university, but for Athens,” said Georgia Athletic Director Josh Brooks. “We’re thrilled to partner with Does Entertainment and showcase Sanford Stadium as the world-class venue it truly is.”

While headliners for the inaugural event haven’t been confirmed, early industry chatter suggests that arena-level, multi-platinum artists from genres like pop, rock, and country could be in play. Given UGA’s passionate fan base and Sanford’s national profile, the launch is expected to draw huge attention and set records for stadium concerts in the region.

Beyond the music, local officials are optimistic about the economic ripple effect the series could bring. With thousands expected to travel to Athens for these events, nearby restaurants, bars, hotels, and small businesses may benefit from a spike in tourism outside the typical football season.

Additional details regarding tickets, seating, and event policies will be shared in the coming months. But for now, one thing is clear: The Hedges are getting louder — not just with cheers on Saturdays, but with music that could define a new tradition in Athens.
