What a mistake $58.5 million Niners have to…

The mock drafts are coming in since the draft is drawing nearer.

On Saturday, NFL Wires held a mock draft in which all of the team sites’ writers participated. There were exchanges in this one as well. In a massive transaction, the San Francisco 49ers sent the Denver Broncos their first (No. 31), second (No. 63), and sixth (No. 216) round picks.

Kyle Madson of Niners Wire dissected this move, saying it was too excellent to ignore. They chose Oregon State tackle Taliese Fuaga as a result.

We’re conversing now! I’ve always said that offensive line needs to be addressed, and this is the ideal method. With Mike McGlinchey gone, the 49ers not only have a solution for their right tackle problem, but they also have a backup plan in case Trent Williams decides to retire in a few years. Right tackle Colton McKivitz, who is currently with the 49ers, has signed a one-year agreement with a guaranteed $7 million for two years, which suggests they want to use him in training camp.

Fuaga is a formidable opponent and can provide some steadiness, even if his role is merely guard. His position on this offensive line is available.

Regretfully, I don’t think the 49ers will risk a trade for the top tackle in the 2024 NFL Draft. Although this trade is a fantastic steal, there is a catch: would the Broncos actually accept it? If the 49ers front staff can make it work, it appears to be a perfect storm.

That offensive line is taken care of, and they have plenty of ammunition to return in the second round for anything else, if they could.

How does this draft mockup appeal to you?
