The Texas A&M men’s basketball team ended a five-game losing streak on Saturday by defeating Georgia, an SEC opponent, 70-56. This season’s longest losing streak was matched by A&M’s eight-game losing streak from 2022.

The Aggies (16-13, 7-9 SEC) and guard Tyrece Radford have had ups and downs this season. Just a few weeks ago, they were expected to be in the NCAA Tournament, but after five straight losses, those aspirations are all but gone.

Following the team’s victory over the Bulldogs (15-14, 5-11 SEC) on Saturday, Radford discussed the team’s mentality on SEC Network.

Simply as a group. collectively. We simply got together. Remain persistent. It’s not finished yet. So, just never give up. Enter the ring. That’s what Coach Buzz [Williams] used to preach and still preaches. For three, for four years in a row. That’s our way of life. Simply never give up,” Radford advised.

Additionally, Radford stated that they just needed to get past their losing run.

The point guard for the Aggies stated, “Most of my guys that came back.” We’ve experienced this. It’s challenging. We’ve experienced the majority of it. We had great expectations the year before, you know. You know, we were both correct in the same circumstance. First year: eight games in a row, I believe. didn’t allow it deter us.
