Connor McDavid Explain Why He We Be leaving Edmonton Oilers

Boston, Massachusetts – Tuesday night, the Edmonton Oilers defeated the Boston Bruins 2-1, their fifth straight victory, thanks to a goal by Leon Draisaitl 2:18 into overtime.

With 1:20 remaining in the third, Draisaitl again tied the score at one after Edmonton substituted Stuart Skinner for an additional skater. With a one-timer off a crossing pass from Connor McDavid, Draisaitl put the game away.

“I believe it’s simply an indication of our group’s maturity. It’s evidently a challenging building to play in. “I believe we persevered and exercised patience,” stated Draisaitl, who has scored 32 goals this season.

Boston was only allowed five shots in the third quarter and none in overtime by Edmonton.

For the Oilers, Skinner made 25 saves while Evan Bouchard had two assists. McDavid’s point streak now stands at 12 games after he added two assists.

“Ultimately, one play needs to be made, one shot needs to be taken,” Draisaitl remarked. “We have a really talented group of players.”

The Bruins, who lost 19-7-6 at home, took the ice to another round of jeers.

All we need to do is figure out how to win these games. Pavel Zacha, who scored Boston’s lone goal, said, “I think there’s been a lot of them like this season — we’re winning, then in the last five minutes we get scored on.”

Zacha’s fifteenth goal was scored 4:26 into the third frame. He scored via a one-time slap shot after Danton Heinen’s crossing pass.

Linus Ullmark, the goalie for the Bruins, stopped 24 shots.

“We thought we had it.” That last minute, it escaped our control,” Ullmark remarked. “I have to accept responsibility for it too.”

In the closing seconds of regulation, Edmonton had a chance to win, but Ullmark stopped Warren Foegele’s rebound effort.

Despite being harassed by Trent Frederic, McDavid had a chance to score late in the third on a shot he got on Ullmark. During his point, McDavid had two goals and 26 assists.
