So Shocking: Niners head coach and WR crash now and….

As he developed into one of the league’s top pass catchers, wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk spent the first portion of his career as Deebo Samuel’s backup. Nonetheless, within the past few years, a lot has changed.

Aiyuk developed into a significant impact player in 2022 and 2023, and after amassing 1,342 yards on just 75 receptions last season, he informally took over as the 49ers’ top receiver. Though the team has granted Samuel a huge contract before the 2023 season, his development has presented a challenge because no company can afford to pay two receivers superstar salaries.

For months, there have been rumors that the team would sell Aiyuk before he becomes a free agent or loses his franchise tag in 2025. This is the reason for the rumors. Some San Francisco supporters, though, are hoping the team can work out a long-term contract to keep him around.
