Evatt’s team fought valiantly in the second half to overcome Cambridge United and win 2-1 during the midweek match. Remembering 12 of Bolton's Most Memorable Premier League ...

The Trotters have managed to stay within just six points of league leaders Pompey despite some dismal performances thus far in February, including draws against Northampton and Barnsley at home and away against Charlton Athletic. However, they still have two games remaining.

But this month has been especially tough for Bolton, who lost their captain Santos due to a calf injury he suffered during the team’s EFL Trophy penalty shootout loss to Blackpool at the end of January. However, in true fairytale fashion, Evatt has revealed that the 28-year-old is back in training with the team and might start this weekend at Bloomfield Road when Bolton Wanderers takes on the Seasiders in an attempt to get revenge. Speaking to the club’s media, the manager stated:

Since joining Bolton Wanderers in 2020, the Portuguese defender has been a mainstay at the back for Evatt’s team. This month, his leadership and skill on the field have been clearly missed.

But his possible return to the squad would be a huge help to the promotion contenders, especially as they get ready to take on Portsmouth, who are now leading the league. For Bolton, this is fantastic news, but not so much for Blackpool.
