BRAKING NEWS: The QB2 we be coming back by…
Joe Flacco was the Cleveland Browns’ standout player. It cannot be said in any other way. The 38-year-old veteran, who joined the squad towards the end of the season, gave the offense a boost and went on to finish with 1,616 yards and 13 touchdowns while leading the team to four straight victories.
The Houston Texans eliminated Cleveland from the playoffs in the Wild Card Round, bringing an end to their incredible season, but this club believes that the future is bright. Despite losing a number of starters on both sides of the ball, they prevailed and they expect to return most of them.
That might include Flacco, who general manager Andrew Berry recently complimented. In talking about the team’s future, Berry stressed the value of the QB2 position and expressed his desire for Flacco to return.
Berry remarked, “Joe, he played winning football for us,” according to ESPN. “He performed admirably, stepping in and delivering a truly excellent performance. The backup quarterback position is actually among the top 30 on the team, in my opinion.”
As was the case with Jacoby Brissett last year, he did warn that a lot goes into these choices, but it’s heartening to know they might run it again in 2024 with a backup they are confident they can win with.lacco declared after the Texans game that he still wanted to play and that Cleveland would be a better team if he was in the starting lineup. The only thing left to wonder was if this would spark a quarterback controversy. Watson’s contract requires the team to start him, but if he has any difficulties at all, the supporters could become very ill. One that more Flacco was the only thing that could heal.
