Everton on the Verge of Letting Beto Leave as They Look to Striker Search

Everton are poised to clear out striker Beto this summer as the club have already identified a transfer shortlist to replace him. On a season-long loan from Udinese last year, the Portuguese striker who went on to show occasional flashes of potential, in his debut Premier League campaign at Goodison Park, hasn’t exactly set the world alight.

Now, with Atalanta, Fenerbahçe and a number of Championship sides, including Leeds United, showing an interest, Everton are willing to let him move on – but only if a suitable offer arrives.Club sources claim a move can be wrapped up swiftly, particularly given that Dominic Calvert-Lewin has already departed on a free transfer. Sean Dyche is desperate for a new focal point in attack.

Enter Thierno Barry. 22-year-old Villarreal forward reportedly on the top of Everton’s wish list and it’s not hard to see why. Tall, quick and clinical, Barry scored 11 goals in La Liga last season, and his livewire energy could ignite a team in transition. Another name on the shortlist? Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade, who scored 17 times last season and seems ready for a bigger platform.

The recruitment team at Everton is working quickly — but with the looming prospect of financial restrictions kicking in again soon, every transfer requires thought. And it’s not only about sign players — it’s also about getting them to mesh, and fast. For fans, the hope is the next move is not a repeat of what they have seen in Beto’s run.

Still, there is optimism on the blue half of Merseyside. And with a new stadium up and coming and the beginnings of a squad rebuild underway, the ideal Inter transfer window could be the beginning of something special. But first, Everton have to get this right: sell smart, buy smarter. And most importantly—find goals.
