Breaking: Done deal!! Bills Officially Confirm Plans to Land. Josh Allen Wins First MVP, Bills Eye New Weapons After Diggs Trade. Last season, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen captured his first NFL MVP award, thanks to his impressive performance through the air. Allen passed for 3,731 yards, 28 touchdowns, and just six interceptions, all without a true No. 1 wide receiver.
Bills Move On From Stefon Diggs
In a surprising move, the Bills traded star wideout Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans last offseason. With no clear replacement on the roster, many expected the offense to struggle—but instead, Allen adapted and thrived.
Rather than zeroing in on a single target like Diggs, Allen took a more versatile approach, spreading the ball around and targeting whoever was open—much like Tom Brady’s style. It didn’t matter if it was a proven veteran or a newcomer—if they were in position to make a play, Allen delivered the ball.
Receivers like Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, and Mack Hollins stepped up, but the unit still lacked star power. Hollins has since signed with the New England Patriots, and while the Bills added Joshua Palmer from the Chargers, they’re still looking for more offensive firepower.
2025 NFL Draft: Buffalo at Pick No. 30
With the No. 30 pick in this year’s draft, Buffalo has an opportunity to land another receiving weapon for Allen. This draft class isn’t particularly deep at wide receiver, meaning some prospects could slide—and the Bills are in a strong position to take a chance on a talented player who falls.
Maurice Jones-Drew Projects Emeka Egbuka to Buffalo
NFL Network’s Maurice Jones-Drew released a mock draft projecting Ohio State wide receiver Emeka Egbuka to Buffalo in the first round.
“The Bills add a smart, tough, and technically sound receiver to help MVP Josh Allen,” Jones-Drew wrote.
Egbuka was a standout for Ohio State, helping the Buckeyes win a national title last year with 81 catches, 1,011 yards, and 10 touchdowns over 16 games. Known for his high football IQ and ability to play with multiple quarterbacks—including C.J. Stroud, Kyle McCord, and Will Howard—he’s proven to be a reliable and adaptable target.

Scouting Egbuka
Analyst Lance Zierlein describes Egbuka as a polished slot receiver with solid size, dependable hands, and strong route-running skills. While he’s not explosive or overly elusive after the catch, his focus and ball-tracking ability make him a consistent threat in the passing game.
“Egbuka is a fluid athlete who thrives in the slot and should start early in offenses that use three-receiver sets heavily,” Zierlein wrote.
Looking Ahead
With plenty of options at pick No. 30, the Bills could go in several directions—but if they opt for a wide receiver, Egbuka looks like a smart, NFL-ready fit to continue building around their MVP quarterback.
