King Crimson Announces Final World Tour — ‘The Crimson Farewell’ Begins This Fall

Legendary progressive rock pioneers King Crimson have officially announced what is expected to be their final world tour, aptly titled “The Crimson Farewell”. The band, led by iconic guitarist Robert Fripp, confirmed that the farewell tour will kick off this fall, beginning in Europe before heading to North America, Japan, and South America through 2026.

In a statement released on their official website, Fripp shared: “This isn’t the end of the music, but it is the final time King Crimson will tour as a live band. After more than five decades, it feels right to bring this journey to a close with gratitude and celebration.”

The tour announcement has sparked a wave of nostalgia and excitement among fans, many of whom have followed King Crimson’s shape-shifting lineup and groundbreaking sound since their 1969 debut, In the Court of the Crimson King. The band has long been hailed as one of the most influential groups in rock history, helping to define and expand the boundaries of progressive music with their complex time signatures, philosophical lyrics, and virtuosic performances.

The Crimson Farewell tour is expected to feature a career-spanning setlist, including classics such as “21st Century Schizoid Man,” “Epitaph,” “Starless,” and “Red.” Fripp is also reuniting with several key members from recent lineups, including Tony Levin, Jakko Jakszyk, Mel Collins, and the three-drummer front line that fans have come to admire in recent years.

Ticket pre-sales are set to begin next month, with select VIP packages offering fans exclusive memorabilia and the chance to attend a pre-show Q&A session with the band. Given the rarity and significance of this tour, demand is expected to be extremely high.

While the farewell is bittersweet, Fripp hinted that King Crimson’s legacy will continue in other forms. “There will be reissues, archival releases, and perhaps one or two surprises along the way,” he teased.

For many, “The Crimson Farewell” will mark the end of an era — but also a final chance to witness one of rock’s most daring and uncompromising bands in their full, majestic force.
