Jannik Sinner Launches Foundation to Support Young Athletes in Italy
ROME, ITALY — Italian tennis sensation Jannik Sinner has announced the launch of a new charitable initiative aimed at supporting young and underprivileged athletes across Italy. The newly formed “Sinner Future Champions Foundation” seeks to provide financial aid, training resources, and mentorship to aspiring sports talents who lack the means to pursue their dreams.
At a press conference held in Rome, the 23-year-old Grand Slam champion expressed his deep commitment to giving back to the community that supported his journey. “I know how tough it can be to chase a dream when resources are limited,” Sinner said. “I was fortunate to have great support, and now I want to create similar opportunities for others who may not be as lucky.”
The foundation will initially focus on tennis and winter sports, reflecting Sinner’s personal background. Born in San Candido, South Tyrol, Sinner was originally a competitive skier before dedicating himself fully to tennis. His experience in both disciplines, combined with his rapid rise in the ATP rankings, has made him a beloved figure in Italian sports.
The Sinner Future Champions Foundation will partner with local clubs, schools, and training centers throughout Italy, with pilot programs starting in regions like Trentino-Alto Adige, Lombardy, and Lazio. In its first year, the foundation plans to support at least 100 athletes, offering scholarships, equipment, and access to coaching and psychological support.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni praised Sinner’s initiative, stating, “Jannik is not just a champion on the court — he’s proving to be a role model off it as well. This foundation represents a significant step forward in promoting equity and access in Italian sports.”
Sinner’s move has also drawn attention from fellow athletes and global sports figures, many of whom have expressed interest in collaborating or supporting the foundation’s efforts.
As Jannik Sinner continues to climb the ranks of professional tennis, his efforts off the court are cementing his legacy as a socially responsible and forward-thinking athlete. With this foundation, he aims to inspire a new generation of Italian champions — not just in sports, but in life.
