Breaking: Buffalo Bills Injury Ahead of Bills’ Camp
Buffalo Bills fans have one more reason to keep their breath this offseason—and his name is Joey Bosa.
The dynamic edge rusher, who was acquired by the Bills this year in one of the team’s most aggressive moves yet, has been working through a calf strain this offseason that has kept him out of OTAs and minicamp. As training camp opens July 23, there’s an increasing curiosity — and concern — over whether Bosa will be 100 percent when the pads come on.
Head coach Sean McDermott dialed down the news severity during minicamp, saying the team is just being “cautious and strategic,” and added the following via Matthew Fairburn: “No it’s not a concern, you’ve got to trust the people that are handling the rehab and he’s done a great job to this point. And really, can you blame them? Bosa has been riddled with injuries over the past few seasons, and there’s simply no reason to rush him back prematurely. Buffalo needs him in January, not July.
Yet, we aren’t discussing just any player. The mere presence of Bosa changes how teams game plan. He offers experience, power and an added fire that should greatly improve the Bills’ pass rush — particularly in a division that now includes revamped offensive lines in Miami and New England.
If there’s any sort of positive at all to this news, it would be that Bosa has been around the facility, attending meetings and staying up-to-date with installs. His football IQ is through the roof, and in all indications he’s all in mentally.
So although he remains without an official timetable for a camp return, the signs appear to be a conservative ramp-up — maybe even a few practices missed early on. But unless he suffers a setback, expect Bosa on the field long before preseason games get under way.

For now, fans will just have to wait and watch and hope. Because if Bosa’s healthy? This Bills defense has the potential to haunt quarterbacks throughout the league.
