System of a Down Celebrates 30 Years of Political Rock Rebellion
June 3, 2025 – Los Angeles, CA Summary for “Summer, Finally” is NOT provided.
In an unexpected move that has fans around the world jumping for joy, System of a Down have today started the party for their 30th anniversary with a declaration as bold as the music itself – the band, whose songs were already “platinum discs to bust the system,” have announced their first tour of the planet since 2015, a collection of just 5 shows (three in the USA), a vinyl box set of their albums, and — oh, this will surprise the titans of society — with an all-new politically-charged album, their last being released way back in 2005, scheduled for release in time for Fall of this year.
Uncompromising rockers System of a Down burst onto the scene in 1995 and changed the rock landscape with their genre-defying style and political message of resistance. Famed for songs like “Chop Suey!”, “B.Y.O.B.,” and “Aerials,” but they have always been known for more than their music: The band has been outspoken on issues including war, corruption and the recognition and condemnation of genocide, particularly when it comes to Armenia.
For their thirtieth anniversary, System of a Down Celebrates 30 Years of Political Rock Rebellion will apparently be dropping a 13-track album with brand new music, ‘Voices from the Ashes’, which lead singer Serj Tankian describes as “a sonic call to arms for a world in flames”. The album was recorded over the last two years, in secrecy, in studio locations in Los Angeles, Yerevan, and Berlin.
The world hasn’t come to peace, and nor have we,” Tankian said in a simulated press conference held in front of a burning effigy with a label that read “Corporate Greed.” We’re going to come out with all cylinders this album,” guitarist Daron Malakian added, “It’s not a nostalgic album. It’s about now. It’s about opening your mouth when silence is complicity.”

Fans responded online swiftly, and the band’s website crashed in the minutes following the tour’s pre-sale. The “30 Years Loud” tour is set to cover five continents and feature rare appearances in Eastern Europe, South America, and the Middle East.
