Georgia Unveils Bold Recruiting Move for 5-Star WR During Visit
Georgia’s second official visit weekend has wrapped up, and now the Bulldogs are waiting to see which prospects they’ve managed to sway. Head coach Kirby Smart hosted nearly 20 recruits, and some early signs suggest the visits may already be paying off.
Among the key players in attendance was Jared Curtis, a 2026 Georgia quarterback commit and one of the top QBs in his class. He came to Athens to throw passes to some major targets, including 5-star wide receiver Cederian Morgan, who is ranked No. 2 at his position and No. 11 overall nationally. Landing Morgan would be a major win for Georgia, potentially solidifying their wide receiver group for the future.
In an attention-grabbing move, Georgia handed Morgan the No. 1 jersey during his uniform photoshoot—a number worn by former Bulldog star George Pickens. For Georgia fans, that number carries serious weight. Pickens was also a 5-star receiver from Alabama, and he helped lead Georgia to a national title while wearing that number.
Whether it was a subtle message or a coincidence, giving Morgan that jersey could suggest the staff sees him as a future star in Athens—and possibly a future NFL player like Pickens.
Beyond the symbolic jersey, Morgan had an eventful visit. He caught passes from Curtis and was very active on social media, posting about his experience. The two will also play together on a 7-on-7 team this summer, and their developing chemistry could be a factor in Morgan’s college choice.
Morgan has announced that he’ll make his college commitment after finishing his official visits, with a decision coming July 2 at noon, live from Benjamin Russell High School.
