Brian Eno Announces 2025 Tour Dates and New Album Releases
Renowned ambient music pioneer Brian Eno has announced a 2025 tour in support of his latest projects, including the collaborative albums Luminal and Lateral, set for release on June 6 via Verve. These albums, created with artist Beatie Wolfe, stem from their joint 2022 SXSW talk, “Art and Climate,” and subsequent collaborations.
Luminal features 11 tracks, including the single “Suddenly,” while Lateral comprises eight parts of “Big Empty Country.” The albums explore complex emotions, drawing on concepts like the French “ilinx” (playful excitement), Japanese “mono no aware” (poignancy of life’s impermanence), and Arabic “ya’aburnee” (deep bond between loved ones).
In addition to these releases, Eno has unveiled Aurum, an 80-minute ambient album exclusive to Apple Music, utilizing spatial audio technology. This marks his first solo album since 2022’s ForeverAndEverNoMore.
Complementing his musical endeavors, Eno has released a new book titled What Art Does, co-authored with Dutch artist Bette Adriaanse. The book delves into the purpose and impact of art, emphasizing its role in evoking and altering human emotions.
Eno’s 2025 tour will feature performances across Europe and North America, showcasing his latest works and offering audiences an immersive experience of his innovative soundscapes. Specific dates and venues are expected to be announced soon.
Fans can also explore Eno’s generative music app, Bloom: 10 Worlds, co-developed with Peter Chilvers. The app, available on iOS and Android, allows users to create ambient music through touch interactions, reflecting Eno’s commitment to blending technology and art.
With these multifaceted projects, Brian Eno continues to push the boundaries of music and art, inviting audiences into new realms of emotional and sensory exploration.
