Bulldogs Fortify Trenches: Another 5-Star Offensive Lineman Targets Georgia. The Georgia Bulldogs are set to kick off a major recruiting push earlier than usual this offseason. While June is typically packed with official visits across the college football landscape, Georgia is getting a head start by hosting an important recruiting weekend in late May. With an impressive list of high-profile prospects scheduled to be in Athens, the coaching staff is pulling out all the stops in hopes of making a lasting impression.
Among the most highly anticipated visitors is Darius Gray, a five-star interior offensive lineman who recently confirmed his plans to visit the Georgia campus. According to a report by On3’s Steve Wiltfong, Gray is one of the top offensive line prospects in the 2026 class. The 247Sports Composite rankings place him as the No. 29 overall recruit in the country, the No. 2 interior lineman, and the second-best player coming out of Virginia.
Georgia has long prided itself on building dominant offensive lines—a strategy that paid major dividends during its back-to-back national championship runs. However, the Bulldogs’ offensive front didn’t quite meet expectations this past season. Adding an elite talent like Gray could help the program reclaim its trench dominance and bring renewed stability to the offensive line group.
Even more exciting for Georgia fans is the possibility of pairing Gray with another elite lineman: five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell. Cantwell is scheduled to announce his college commitment on May 13, and all signs point to Georgia being the likely destination. Should both prospects commit to the Bulldogs, Georgia could be on the verge of securing two cornerstone players for its 2026 offensive line unit.

Although Gray has additional official visits planned throughout June, Georgia’s early opportunity to host him gives them a strategic advantage. A successful weekend could elevate the Bulldogs to the top of Gray’s list as he navigates the rest of his recruitment.
All eyes will be on Athens this weekend, as Georgia aims to impress one of the most coveted offensive linemen in the nation and build momentum in what’s shaping up to be another elite recruiting class.
