Cam Ward Officially Signs $48.75 Million Rookie Deal with Titans. The Tennessee Titans selected former Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward with the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Joining a team that struggled last season, the franchise clearly sees Ward as the quarterback who can lead them forward. His time in Tennessee officially began on Wednesday when he signed his first NFL contract.
According to Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports, Ward agreed to a fully guaranteed contract worth \$48.75 million, which includes a \$32.1 million signing bonus.
“Sources: The Titans and No. 1 overall pick QB Cam Ward have agreed to a 4-year, \$48.75M fully guaranteed rookie contract, including a \$32.1M signing bonus. The deal is done. A new era in Tennessee can officially begin.”
This fully guaranteed contract reflects how much faith the Titans have in Ward. The team was impressed by the 23-year-old throughout the draft process. While Tennessee initially kept its options open, Ward won them over with his skills, confidence, and leadership.
Ward’s journey is unique. He was a 0-star recruit from high school and accepted an offer only from Incarnate Word. After two years there, he transferred to Washington State and played two seasons, showing his playmaking talent and helping keep the team competitive. Originally, Ward planned to enter the 2024 NFL Draft but was projected as a third or fourth-round pick. Instead, he transferred to Miami, where he developed significantly as a player.
In his final season at Miami, Ward threw for 4,313 yards and 39 touchdowns with a 67.2% completion rate. He set Miami’s single-season records for passing yards and touchdowns and led the entire FBS in touchdown passes last year.

Even though Tennessee picked Ward first overall and signed him to a \$48.75 million contract, head coach Brian Callahan hasn’t named him the starting quarterback yet. The offseason is still early, and Ward is competing against Will Levis for the starting job. Nevertheless, Cam Ward is viewed as the franchise’s future.
