Black Sabbath Announces Final Reunion Show in Birmingham with Original Lineup and Star-Studded Festival Lineup
In what promises to be one of the most historic moments in rock history, legendary heavy metal pioneers Black Sabbath have officially announced their final reunion concert, titled “Back to the Beginning”. The iconic event is set for July 5, 2025, at Villa Park in Birmingham, England—the band’s hometown and the spiritual birthplace of heavy metal.
This one-night-only spectacle will reunite the band’s original lineup—Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward—for the first time in two decades. Fans around the world have long awaited the moment these four titans would share the stage again, and now, that dream is becoming a reality.
Despite facing serious health issues, including Parkinson’s disease, Ozzy Osbourne has committed to participating in the show. He will perform a short solo set before joining his Black Sabbath bandmates for several songs. In recent interviews, Osbourne confirmed that he has been undergoing intensive physical and vocal therapy to ensure he’s ready for the performance, which he considers the “full stop” of his legendary career. Sharon Osbourne reportedly conceived the idea to give Ozzy a goal to work toward during his recovery.
The concert will also feature a massive supporting lineup, including performances by Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Halestorm, Alice In Chains, Lamb Of God, Anthrax, and Mastodon. In addition, a supergroup comprising members from Guns N’ Roses, Smashing Pumpkins, Korn, Judas Priest, Limp Bizkit, Faith No More, and more will perform a tribute set in honor of Sabbath’s legacy.
All proceeds from the event will go to Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorns Children’s Hospice, making the night not just a celebration of music, but also a major philanthropic effort.
Tickets, which went on sale in February 2025, sold out within hours, underscoring the massive global anticipation surrounding this final reunion. This will truly be a night for the ages—marking both an emotional farewell and a triumphant return to where it all began.
