More than five decades since their official breakup, The Beatles have once again taken center stage, proving that their legacy is far from over. The legendary British band recently captivated the world with a series of major milestones — including the release of their final song “Now and Then,” a Grammy Award win, and the announcement of a groundbreaking biopic series.

“Now and Then,” released on November 2, 2023, is hailed as the band’s last song. Originally a John Lennon demo from the 1970s, the track was completed with the help of advanced AI technology, which isolated Lennon’s vocals to pristine clarity. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr added fresh instrumentation, while George Harrison’s guitar work, recorded during the 1995 Anthology sessions, completed the quartet’s presence. Paired with a remastered version of their debut single “Love Me Do,” the release forms a symbolic bookend to the Beatles’ storied career.

The emotional weight of the release was heightened when “Now and Then” won the Grammy for Best Rock Performance in February 2025 — a stunning recognition 55 years after the Beatles’ last Grammy win. Ringo Starr reflected on the moment, saying it felt as though John Lennon was with them in spirit.

Further cementing their enduring influence, a series of biopics is set to hit theaters in April 2028. Directed by Oscar-winner Sam Mendes, the four interconnected films will focus on each band member individually — Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. The cast includes Paul Mescal, Barry Keoghan, Joseph Quinn, and Harris Dickinson, who has also made recent headlines for his engagement to singer Rose Gray.

A music video for “Now and Then,” directed by Peter Jackson, adds visual depth to the experience, combining unseen archival footage with new scenes of McCartney and Starr. It serves as a heartfelt tribute to the band’s unmatched journey through music and time.

The Beatles may have sung “the end,” but clearly, their story is still being written.
