Caitlin Clark and her fellow rookie Indiana Fever players were placed on notice after practice on Thursday. The Fever social media team said that they felt compelled to lead the team in wishing Fever guard Erica Wheeler a very happy birthday.

Similar to Clark, Wheeler, 33, is a ninth-year WNBA veteran and plays guard. The two have been closer ever since the Fever selected Clark with the top choice in the draft on April 15. Clark was spared from singing solos because the Fever also have two rookies on their roster: Leilani Correa and Celeste Taylor.

This season, Wheeler is in her second spell with the Fever. Wheeler played as a rookie with the Atlanta Dream and New York Liberty after being undrafted out of Rutgers in 2015, and she then joined the Fever.
