ATHENS, GA — The wait is over, and history is about to be made in Athens. The University of Georgia has officially been selected to host ESPN College GameDay for the first time ever in a season opener, as the  Bulldogs prepare to clash with SEC rival Tennessee on what promises to be an unforgettable night at Sanford Stadium.

The announcement came early this morning from ESPN, confirming that GameDay will set up shop on   North Campus in the heart of Bulldog Nation, bringing its iconic broadcast, celebrity guest pickers, and national spotlight to Georgia’s front lawn on opening weekend.

The magnitude of the event can’t be overstated.
