The Ohio State Buckeyes are getting hot at just the right time. Ohio State men’s basketball is now 2-1, including a home win over number two-ranked Purdue on February 18, since firing their head coachJa Chirs Holtmann. ke Diebler has taken over this team and done exactly what every fan wanted in him as an interim head coach.
Now, after another win at home against Nebraska, people started taking a real look at Ohio State’s resume and seeing if it’s really worthy of the NCAA Tournament. Obviously, a win over Purdue, Michigan State, and Nebraska down the stretch is very important for the Buckeyes. But Ohio State has two more regular season games that are two very must-win games for Diebler and Ohio State. The Buckeyes have to host Michigan and travel to New Brunswick to take on Rutgers, who is a very streaky team. The Scarlet Knights have gone on streaks of three straight losses, four straight wins, and three straight losses, but are back in the win column after beating a Michigan team who is having a more than disappointing season.
If the Buckeyes can win out, and even just make a deep run (winning 3-4 games) in the Big Ten tournament, they will most definitely have the argument to be a bubble team and for why they are one of the 64 teams that undeniably belong in March Madness contention.
